Summary: Founded by Andrew Wallace? EOS is comprised of members and contributors that span the globe, for whom the internet is the main medium of communication. EOS is organized along decentralized principles and focuses largely on the development and dissemination of the ideas presented by EOS members. Local activities such as study circles, lectures and both formal and informal meetings are held and lead by members, as well as online conferences where members separated over large geographical distances may co-ordinate, discuss and debate technocratic theory. The large majority of academic material is published on the website, and debated in the forums. EOS comprises of four functional sequences and a EOS director, for the purposes of coordinating organization wide activity and maintaining the website. The sequence of finance is responsible for raising revenue and accounting for EOS expenses, that include costs relating to EOS activities, events, and the maintenance of the website itself. The sequence of research is responsible for coordinating the research efforts of members and engaging organisation wide members in larger projects, such as the energy survey. The sequence of administration is responsible for the maintenance and development of the website and any other technical issues that arise on an organisational scale. The sequence of realtions deals with public realstions and membership. The role of the director is to co-ordinate the activities of the four sequences and provide guidance to members where necessary or appropriate.

Advantages for being supported by us: They have a transition plan that might be very interesting for us; have an interesting organisation system that could benefit us; seem to show interest in joining forces with us; are not against cooperation or against the ideology of TVP.
Disadvantages for being supported by us: Seems to be a top down hierarchical system with a director.

Summary: Founded by Deron Beal on May 1st, 2003.. The Freecycle Network is made up of 4,834 groups with 7,341,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.

Summary: Founded by economist Mark Boyle. The Freeconomy Community's aim is to help reconnect people in their local communities through the simple act of sharing. Not only is sharing our resources better for the environment, it saves you money and builds friendships with those people who live closest to you. It is what we call a WIN-WIN-WIN situation. Everything is shared for FREE on Freeconomy, and no money changes hands between members. We do not use advertising, we receive no donations or income from the website and it is completely free to join, forever. Why? Just for the love of it!

Advantages for being supported by us: It's a win-win situation for us to support and promote them; absolutely no money is involved; possible source of resources for projects; it is the fastest growing emerging real resource based economy I know about.
Disadvantages for being supported by us: none at all it seems. If someone really supports TZM, TVP and a RBE they should really join because if you can't learn to share you cannot live in an RBE.

Summary: Open Source Ecology is a movement dedicated to the collaborative development of tools for replicable, open source, modern off-grid "resilient communities." By using [permaculture] and digital fabrication together to provide for basic needs and open source methodology to allow low cost replication of the entire operation, we hope to empower anyone who desires to move beyond the struggle for survival and "evolve to freedom." By our analysis, most of the technologies needed for a sustainable and pleasant standard of living could be reduced to the cost of scrap metal + labor. There is immense potential for social transformation once this technology is fully developed for building interconnected self-sufficient communities, since people will be freed from material constraints and able to seek self-actualization. We understand that this is an ambitious task, but we have accomplished much and are making rapid progress. Factor e Farm is the land-based facility where we are putting this theory into practice. Our means of achieving these goals are meticulously detailed in the "Resilient Community Construction Set" (formerly known as the GVCS) and the OSE Proposal. Summary: RepRap is a free desktop 3D printer capable of printing plastic objects. Since many parts of RepRap are made from plastic and RepRap can print those parts, RepRap can be considered a self-replicating machine - one that anyone can build given time and materials. It also means that - if you've got a RepRap - you can print lots of useful stuff, and you can print another RepRap for a friend... Reprap.org is a community project, which means you are welcome to edit most pages on this site, or better yet, create new pages of your own.
